Hon Jacquie Petrusma MP
Jacquie was born in Launceston, trained at the Launceston General Hospital as a Registered Nurse and worked in health related areas since 1984. Jacquie has also completed a Commerce Degree, worked as a National Sales Manager in a global medical company and owned her own business.
Jacquie shifted to Hobart in 1994 where she lives in the Franklin electorate with her husband Tim, children and two dogs on three acres, where they have established an organic orchard and vegetable garden.
Jacquie is and has been involved in many community organisations and due to her own past experience of being a single mum, as well as from studying an Education Degree, Jacquie is very interested in developing policies that will strengthen and support families, sole parents and education.
Jacquie is also passionate about the issues that affect Tasmanian families and small businesses, as well as health, the environment, the rising cost of living and the struggle to make ends meet. Other issues Jacquie advocates strongly for include family violence, active ageing, child abuse and people with disability.
